About Me
My training
I started Yoga at aged 14 and now have 19 years of teaching experience. I started training in the tradition of Krishnamacharya with his son Desikachar in Berlin with doctors Martin Soder and Imogen Dalmann. I did professional training in Yoga teaching and therapy in Berlin (from 1988 – 1992) with doctors Martin Soder and Imogen Dalmann. This followed the tradition of Krishnamacharya and his son Desikachar.
Since 1999 I have been studying with Paul Harvey in Bristol in the same tradition. Since 1989 I have also done over 1,000 workshop hours with the innovative teachers of Yoga from the inner body, Angela Farmer and Victor had been a major influence on her teaching too. Dr. Martin Soder and Imogen Dalmann studied with Desikachar as did Paul Harvey for close to 30 years. I having done some direct studies with Desikachar, have studied with 3 of his closest pupils.
Since 1999 I have been doing continuous study with Paul Harvey in Bristol, practioner training and further studies through the Association for Yoga Studies. Krishnamacharya lineage Krishnamacharya was perhaps the most accomplished teacher of Yoga in the 20th Century. Not travelling to the west, many great western teachers travelled to India to study with him. His son lived and studied with him for 30 years.
Inyengar studied with Krishnamacharya in the 1930’s for two years. Patabi Jois studies with Krishnamacharya in the 1940’s for 4 years. Desikachar studied and lived with his father for 30 years in the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s.
Three of my teachers studied for close to 30 years with Desikachar.
